Intriguing NFL transactions and rumors

Willis McGahee is traded to Baltimore in exchange for 3 draft picks. The Ravens then offer Willis $40.12 million dollar contract.

My take: Greener pastures for McGahee indeed. Great replacement for Jamal Lewis, with a much better upside. Buffalo had given up on McGahee and was ready to move on, and three picks more than make Marv Levy happy. Definitely a win-win.

Joe Horn signs with the Atlanta Falcons

My take: With his age, i'm not sure Horn will be that much of an offensive threat. Atlanta most likely wants him to mentor their young receivers, with anything else being gravy.

Jamal Lewis signs with the Cleveland Browns

My take: Offers about as much as what Reuben Droughns gives you - a lot of carries, not a whole lot of yards, and past legal problems. Seems like passing on Lewis and taking Adrian Peterson makes more sense. Bad news for Lewis: no longer gets to shred the Browns' D for 200+ yards...unless it's in practice.

Trent Green is asked to either take a salary cut or seek out a trade

My take: Green had his share of problems last season, and didn't play very well when he did come back. I'm not sure that Damon Huard is the future, but he seems like a better option at this point than Green. It would have been interesting to see how deep the Chiefs would have gone if Huard remained the starter.

Randy Moss on the trading block, with possible suitors being New England, Atlanta and Green Bay.

My take: WHY would you roll the dice on this guy at this point in his career? Yes, the Raiders are a mess, but Moss hardly put out maximum effort over the season. Any team taking this guy is asking for problems (See: T.O.).
